Motion Pictures Company (MPC) worked as the lead vendor, along with FrameStore, Image Engine, Rodeo FX and Instinctual VFX. Pete Dionne, the VFX supervisor at MPC, was hired to work on "Detective Pikachu," who has also worked in other big films like "The Jungle Book," "The Lion King," and "Godzilla." MPC Film had over 600 people working on the project.
"We not only designed the graphical content but we were also required to invent a bespoke language system that could then be used throughout the city. A large range of graphic elements both 2D and 3D was then delivered to MPC film to be converted into CG structures and placed around the city to complete the shots." -MPC
