Warner Bros. revealed versions of the trailer in English along with dubbed versions in Spanish, French, Italian, and German. It soon became the top trending video on YouTube and a top trending topic on Twitter, while inspiring numerous internet memes and reaction videos. Within 24 hours, the high-concept trailer amassed more than 100 million views across multiple online and social media platforms. A second trailer, featuring an appearance by Mewtwo, was released on February 26, 2019.

A lot of Fans used social media to share their experiences growing up of watching the Pokémon anime productions, playing the related games, and all things that made them enjoy the Pokémon character and pals/villains from this universe. There are Fans collectively engaging in insider dialogue, their own videos of Pikachu’s dance moves, and much more.


Reynolds gets his fair share of the discussion, too, with fans and casual moviegoers alike perceiving this star as a brand unto himself. Each of the film’s posters, trailers and commercials too have been dissected by fans and commentators, as they sought to find some clues to the, intentionally done, mysterious imaging in the posters and trailers of the film. This activity was encouraged on the movie’s official website, which offers a magnifying glass visitors can use to explore the theatrical poster to find all the hints and clues. The movie’s average daily views for top YouTube clips were an immense 302k, thanks to a variety of official and fan-made clips that stoked moviegoers’ attention heading into the opening weekend.

Apart from sharing a bunch of engaging and fun videos, as well as the behind-the-scenes of the movie on the Warner Bros. and Reynolds YouTube channels, the stars also appeared in many YouTube interviews.



An Instagram page was also made to get the stars to connect closely with their fans through various Instagram stories.



The platform was also used to announce any promotional event that was to take place and keep the audience engaged and updated.

Concept Artist: RJ Palmer

The realistic style of Pokémon was based on the artwork by R.J. Palmer . The movie's production designer Nigel Phelps, discovered him while he was looking for realistic Pokémon designs on the internet, and he was so impressed by Palmer's artwork that he gave him a job as the concept artist for the movie.
